Plan your island time

A realistic 3-hour Isla de Lobos itinerary

Three hours is enough for a memorable visit, but not for every landmark plus a long swim. Choose a relaxed coastal plan or the official circular walk before you arrive.

Option A: relaxed beaches and village

  1. Walk about ten minutes from the jetty to Playa de la Concha.
  2. Swim or snorkel while conditions are suitable.
  3. Continue to El Puertito for the natural pools and fishing huts.
  4. Return to the jetty with a generous boarding margin.

This route prioritizes the places most visitors want to see without turning the day into a race.

Option B: the circular trail

The official tourism route is 7.4 km, rated low difficulty and estimated at about two hours. It runs from the jetty towards Martiño lighthouse and returns through El Puertito. Open the numbered Isla de Lobos route map before deciding whether the full loop fits your return. Use the remaining time for short stops rather than a long beach session.

What changes the plan

  • Heat and wind can make the exposed walk feel longer.
  • Carry water, food and sun protection; services are very limited.
  • Follow signs and park restrictions rather than informal tracks.
  • Your ferry return time is the hard deadline.
